Yes, these are pulled from the db_sequence table. There's a record per
table that keeps track of the id.

If you use Achievo's backend to do your 'manual' inserts, you can update
this id by doing $new_id = $g_db->nextid("hours"); and then insert the
record based on the $new_id.
