Hmm, from the manual:

 "In PHP 4, these functions are only available if PHP was configured
with --enable-bcmath. In PHP 3, these functions are only available if
PHP was NOT configured with --disable-bcmath."

I think we should not rely on this method. I'll find the responsible
developer and flame him for using it ;-)

I'll try to remove the dependency for the next release.
