Hi,
I'd like some feedback on bug #110 (http://www.achievo.org/bug/110).
The problem is this:
Prior to 0.9.1, a project had (optionally) both a customer and a
contactperson associated with it.
In 0.9.2, this changed to project teams, where you no longer directly
choose a customer, but build a project team out of people, among which
are also contactpersons.
This gives the possibility to add a person in the role of customer,
another in the role of partner, still others at subcontractors etc.
When a project from 0.9.1 indeed had both a customer and a
contactperson, the conversion to 0.9.2 is ok; it will add this
contactperson as a teammember in the role of 'customer'.
But if the project had only a customer set and no contactperson, the
conversion script does not know how to handle this.
How should we cope with this?
Inform the user that the conversion is completed but that the link
between customer and projects has been lost for certain projects?
Or should we take the first contactperson of the customer and add him to
the team? This could be the wrong person on many occasions.
Or should we solve it in yet another way?
The reason I ask is that in our company the contactpersons are usually
set, so it's not a big problem for us. But I can imagine that you have
many projects that will loose their relation to the customer if we do
not solve this.
Ideas?
Greetings,
Ivo
