RE: [achievo] seperation of code and layout

Hi,

I have talked with Ivo about this a while back.
I dunno what his current plans are, but achievo does not need the
flexibility of a template engine and its been very long since I have
looked at the actual code.

Basically achievo (or better atk) needs to allow placements of the menu
and the main content. It needs to allow color changes. Most of this is
solved through the themeing.

I would try to get rid of html code within the php code by using some
widgets concept. This should be done absolutely strickt. There should be
html code only in configuration files and in the places where the
widgets are defined and no where else!

Maybe the widgets should be XML and converted to HTML on the fly (if
needed with some caching mechanism).

This is not really a seperation of code and layout but it is sufficient
and it allows very fast development of modules with a unified GUI.

Best regards,
Lukas Smith
